Vaddio’s IntelliSHOT ePTZ camera wins 2022 NSCA Excellence in Product Innovation Award.
Minnetonka, Minn., USA (April 2022) – reaffirming its commitment to developing products supporting its integrators and partners, Vaddio announced its industry-leading IntelliSHOT ePTZ camera with auto-framing has won the 2022 NSCA Excellence in Product Innovation Awards in the Ease of Customization category.
NSCA is the leading not-for-profit association representing the commercial integration industry. They recently announced the winners of their annual Excellence in Product innovation awards that recognize manufacturers and products that significantly impact integrators and systems contractors. A panel of integrators served as judges alongside NSCA’s director of business resources and the editor of Commercial Integrator.
“The entries we received as part of the Excellence in Product Innovation awards this year were truly impressive,” said NSCA Director of Business Resources Mike Abernathy. “The manufacturers in this industry aren’t backing away from innovation—that was clear in every product we pored over. It’s incredibly exciting to see where technology is headed.”
“Vaddio is honored to accept this prestigious award from the NSCA,” said Rob Viren, Product Manager for the IntelliSHOT. “We are dedicated to developing new products like the IntelliSHOT that allows our integration partners to promise a custom installation in every space.”
The Vaddio IntelliSHOT ePTZ camera is the first intelligent video camera to offer exceptional customization opportunities for systems contractors to deliver the best lecture capture and videoconferencing experience not found in off-the-shelf solutions.
Designed from the ground up with integration partners in mind, the IntelliSHOT offers a two-in-one experience. The IntelliSHOT offers contractors and integrators the ability to select the same camera for large venues and conference rooms where hands-free auto-framing is needed. The real innovation is in the web-based interface, where professional integrators can fine-tune nine settings to ensure the system performance is precisely what the room and application need.
With simple, custom features like one-touch masking, integrators can outline wherein the cameras field of view they would like to ignore participants, i.e., students in the front row, windows, busy hallways, projection screens, or displays in the front of the room. IntelliSHOT also allows fine-tuning the camera's speed for following a presenter walking and how tight the shot should be around the instructor. The integrator can adjust the wait time before framing additional people up at a whiteboard, how often the auto-framer resizes the image, and limit how much zoom is allowed. But more importantly, these options aren't on/off but on a spectrum, so professional contractors can make the most out of every installation. Sometimes projects aren't that complicated, and time is of the essence, so IntelliSHOT is preprogrammed with six standard configurations like "responsive lecture capture" and "default conference" to make it fast to install and configure while not compromising system performance.
“Development of professional-grade products that add value for our partners is one of Vaddio's main goals,” said Viren. “Not only is it easy to customize the auto-framing settings, but the level of fine-tuning available allows integrators to achieve peak performance from the IntelliSHOT wherever it’s installed.”
Although reliable, high-quality video is essential in the boardroom and the classroom, integration with audio systems is equally important. Vaddio's engineers built in two beamforming microphones that cover the audio needs of most standard conference rooms. However, what makes this systems contractor-friendly is the simple audio I/O incorporated into the camera. The option to integrate existing room DSPs has been an invaluable feature that integration partners love when upgrading training rooms and conference rooms or tying them into auditoriums with complex audio systems in place. The end-user only needs to select one USB device, the IntelliSHOT, to connect to room audio and video.
